All out-of-India citizens require a valid visa to enter India. The appropriate visa category for tourism is the "Tourist Visa". Applying for your visa well before your intended travel date is important, as the processing times can vary.

To apply for an Indian Tourist Visa, follow these steps:

Visit the official website of the Indian Visa Online Application Centre (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html) and apply for an e-tourist visa. This would be available within 4-7 working days most often.

For someone enrolling on a 200 Hour program, a 30 days visa is also good. However, someone planning to enrol in a 300 Hour program or having an intention to travel across India before or after any Yoga Teacher Training Course, should apply for a 1-year visa.

Extensions of tourist visas within India are generally not allowed.

Important: E-visa must be applied at least four days before the arrival date.
